Hidden Forest is a deeply personal painting that captures the essence of undergrowth and soil formation. It embodies the free, flowing energy I experienced while painting it. Initially unsure if this style would resonate, I gained the confidence to continue after receiving encouragement from a celebrated American painter. This validation led to recognition by the Rome City Council, including awards and solo exhibitions, which you can explore further on my website.
Infused with a rich burgundy undertone, Hidden Forest creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. More than any other painting in this collection, it seems to invite personal interpretation. At my solo shows, viewers were eager to share the meaningful imagery they saw—flowing water, animals, shifting landscapes, and more. Though I painted without intention of depicting figures, I later recognised the presence of a woman’s face, which deeply resonated with me. I had originally called this painting Desert Woman, as she seemed to emerge as a Bedouin woman, her mouth open in shock and disbelief.
