Five Minutes for Change
A self-directed approach to gentle, strength-focused movement for people with mobility challenges.
Five Minutes for Change is a gentle, self-guided approach to rebuilding strength, balance, and connection in the body — just five minutes at a time.
It’s shared through short, easy-to-follow YouTube videos created to help anyone experiencing mobility challenges who hasn’t found lasting help through traditional physiotherapy. Whether you spend much of your day lying down, have difficulty sitting upright, or feel limited in movement, this approach offers a way to start reconnecting with your body safely and effectively.
The practice begins at the body’s centre, with the transversus abdominis (TrA) — a deep core muscle that supports posture, stability, and even breathing. When this muscle weakens, everyday movements can feel harder, and maintaining balance and coordination becomes more difficult.
How it works:
This self-directed practice uses small, safe movements, gentle isometric contractions, and short, focused sessions to help the body remember how to support itself. Each small effort strengthens the link between mind and muscle, encouraging coordination, confidence, and gradual improvements — naturally, at your own pace.
A note about my experience:
I’ve developed this approach after years of experiencing profound muscle deconditioning due to extended periods of rest, heightened sensitivity to medications, and other factors, including MS. Despite this, there is no structural damage preventing recovery, and my consultant neurologist has assured me that full mobility is achievable. This personal journey inspired the creation of Five Minutes for Change — to help others reconnect with their own strength when traditional therapies have fallen short.
It’s a quiet, intelligent way to begin again — made for anyone who wants to move more freely, rebuild safely, and rediscover what’s possible.

Much of the research and insights shared here have been supported by AI, including ChatGPT. My hope is to help others who feel stuck reconnect with their own strength.
